It's been a while

Hey folks - been a while.

Busy with life and the pandemic stuff and all sorts of fun things like that.
My computer died a couple years back and it took my back-up drive with it. All that stuff I'd saved to the cloud?? Gone. No idea where it went. 1 commissioned piece of art was still there, and a music file, but everything else was gooooone. Including those 10 volume of that graphic novel I was working on.

Starting over sucks, but here I am.

Took down the Teepublic store because they kept copyright-claiming stuff that was obviously transitive/modified from original...turns out a lot of artists got hit with those. No option to disagree/fight it, and I don't play nice with that kind of stupidity.  The Redbubble shop is still up though.

So, some sketches and some painterly stuff, and a couple items because I'm still kickin'.

A quick headshot of a cowboy-esque and a blue-skinned goob with some DC-Lobo style...I like how I got the fire/cherry of the cigar to come out.

Teepublic pt.2

So, I wasn't 100% happy with that other design, so I scrapped it and put this up instead.
Much happier with it:

Absentia Interruptus

Hey y'all,

Been busy the last few months with moving, working, new job, moving again, trying to get settled enough temporarily until I move yet again....*long exhale* Waiting and hoping for some good news, because it's hard/frustrating to plan long-term when everything is on a short-term contract.
nobody wants to sign on to a lease or mortgage when they don't know if 6 months from now their contract will be extended... or even if the work is going to dry up and the contract cut short.

So anyhow.. had a moment at work... here's a doodle.

Book One

Book One done... only took a couple years.
4 more books roughed out.
Hopefully won't take as long as this one to get done.

Enjoy.

Been piecing together a few things, and this one is taking longer [due to other projects taking priority].

Working and working and working

Hey folks,

Been a good long time since I updated here. Months, even.
Sorry. Life is just continually getting in the way of me posting here.

Have some colour-block design to tide you over until I return again

More painting

So, this is only 900X600px...which is approximately 3.57% of the original size of the painting.

Total time from concept to finish is maybe 6-8 hours.... of time spent painting and detailing. Actual time is a couple of weeks, as I got most of the shapes blocked in, then left it for a day, and then shadows and highlights, left it for a day, came back for details...and left it for a few days so I could come back and see what else needed to be done. And then I finished it.

Remembrance Day

I've lost touch with my old unit. And we're probably better off for it, as we don't need the reminder.
But the public does. The average civilian needs to know *some* of the hardship those who protect them endure, to be thankful that there are strangers who are driven to protect their country - and their fellow citizens - against the world.

I could make you scared, if you want me to

Wow. not sure how I haven't been updating this.
I *was* away from everything for a solid month..but there's been stuff I've made before and after that should've been uploaded here.

Here's some colour blocking of The Tragically Hip's final concert in Kingston.

Like the music or not, you can't help but admire a guy with life-ending cancer going out performing for fans.
